The Hotel Alex Johnson is in a great location with a fantastic rooftop bar that affords views of the Black Hills and Rapid City. Our king bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the blackout blinds were so effective we didn't realize it was daylight when we woke up the first morning. We will definitely stay again if we return to Rapid City.

A great place to stay, and the restaurant on top of the building had the best steak in town during stock show. A place I'll definitely stay again...

The room was delightful! Very comfortable in every way! Also, the staff went above and beyond in helping us. Especially Ms. T. Long who went outside to be sure I understood the directions to an ice cream store. She also helped me with printing airline passes. Later she helped my husband with the elevator. I definitely will highly recommend to hotel to anyone!

We were ending what we called our "Dirt Trip" where accommodations were basic, so the Alex Johnson was definitely a welcome change of pace. The lobby is a beautiful example of rustic opulence, the desk staff was exceptional, drinks on the roof delicious, gift shop ladies interesting... Here's the best: hotel right across street from the Elk Theater, an old movie theater, which was playing Barbie!! Great way to finish a special trip with our 27 year old daughter. It is also in a great location, but unfortunately, our time was too short to explore much.

I like that is wonderful place great folks and services however the pet friendly part could be a bit better i love I can have my pets but to have to take them out the room to go get Ice or go down to the Car is crazy un helpful all is all it was a great stay beautiful hotel and we will be staying again

The hotel was extremely enjoyable! We loved the rooftop bar and its historical feel. The connected bar was absolutely a blast and the staff there made it such fun! We would absolutely recommend the hotel to our friends and family

Nice room for a family with two connecting rooms. Location in the heart of the city with impressive views from the rooftop of the hotel. Starbucks inside the hotel very convenient. Beds really comfortable.

Room was right off the elevator. 2 queen beds not alot of room between beds and dresser. But enough for one person to get through at a time.

Everything. Everybody especially Patrick at the registration were amazing and accommodating. I never felt so welcomed . The bed was a plus. Clean and safe. It was good that the starbucks and bar were just within the building. Near other restaurants too.Its my family's second time there. I am coming back again with my kids. They never disappoint. Thank you so much.
